Job Title: Stress Testing

Objective

• Manage the oversight of   UK STDF Actuals and Stress Testing outputs – ensuring end-to-end process integrity, clear ownership, and smooth handover to Group.
• Own risk and control management – own design and uplift of controls (incl. EUCs, calculators and models), prepare Risk and Control Assessments (RCA), maintain inventory of regulatory reports (RRIS), and drive issue remediation/closure in Helios (non-financial risk management system).
• Run UK governance and stakeholder management including representing HBUK at Integrity in Regulatory Reporting Stress Testing Steerco, provide updates, raise queries, and escalate risks at forums.
• Ensure 2027 BCST readiness including documentation, process maps, runbooks, and controls evidence.
• Manage UK stress testing delivery across cycles – own L0–L2 plans/timelines, governance milestones, and maintain audit-ready artefacts (instructions, SharePoint repositories, control monitoring).
• Coordinate key approvals from accountable executives and submissions – facilitate STDF actuals sign-off, and support timely review, challenge, and submission of HBUK returns.
• Drive continuous improvement – identify emerging risks, communicate policy/framework updates with Finance/Treasury Controls Offices, and streamline/automate activities.

• Into UK Head of Stress Testing with close engagement with the Head of Group Stress Testing Delivery (Barry McCormack)

• In-depth knowledge of the UK STDF and Stress Testing frameworks, and components of bank stress testing
• Understands the features of a robust control framework and experience of apply controls including undertaking controls effectiveness testing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective management of stakeholder relationships
• Focused on continuous process development and using automation to enhance the controls environment, efficiency and commercial insights.
• Important they are verbally articulate and have excellent writing skills (strong English, which is clear, precise and efficient)

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of projects and cross-functional deliverables for stress Testing.
• Collaborate closely with departmental peers and stakeholders to ensure seamless operational continuity.
• Monitor core performance KPIs, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement optimization protocols.
• Champion high quality standards, peer reviews, and comprehensive team documentation.
